Our full service dive centre is conveniently located inside Rocky Bay Resorts, surrounded by indigenous forest with private beach access along a wooden walkway, it’s a short stroll to the beach and boat launch area.
Diving takes place in the world renowned Aliwal Shoal MPA (Marine Protected Area) rated by the legendary Jacques Cousteau as one of the Top 10 Dive Sites worldwide.
Mokarran Dive Charters is owner managed and run by Clive and Michelle Smith, offering you fun, professional and personalised service. We both have over 20 years full time experience in the dive industry and are passionate about what we do, so you can rest assured that you will be diving with a great dive charter.

PADI Discover Scuba Diving
Ever wondered what diving is all about? This is the introductory experience you are looking for, designed for people who want to give scuba diving a try before committing to a full dive course. If you enjoy your dive and continue with the PADI Open Water Course, your dive experience counts as a credit towards the course.
Diving Aliwal Shoal
We are perfectly positioned at Rocky Bay providing divers with easy access to the northern & southern reefs of the Aliwal Shoal MPA.

Aliwal Shoal is a large Marine Protected Area (MPA) situated on the South Coast of Durban, Kwa Zulu Natal. The protected area has increased in size over the years and now stretches from the Illovo River in the North to the Mzimayi River in the South. Diving here is spectacular with a huge diversity of marine life including tiny critters to large turtles, sharks and rays. So wonderful is the diving that is was rated as one of the Top 10 dive sites worldwide by the legendary Jacques Cousteau.
